Partnering for a Better Larkspur
LCF’s capabilities extend far beyond awarding financial grants. The foundation works with other local organizations in a variety of ways to build a stronger community.

Fiscal Sponsorship
LCF assists small organizations with like-minded missions by acting as a fiscal sponsor. In this relationship, LCF’s 501 (c)(3) non-profit status provides an unincorporated group with the benefits of tax-exempt fundraising. For example, the LCF collected and distributed donations for neighbors who wanted to improve their local playground, Heatherwood Park. These arrangements allow the organization to focus on its goals without the need to set up administrative and financial overhead of a nonprofit for a one-time project.

Funds Management
LCF provides a trusted depository for local organizations to manage charitable funds collected for specific projects. For example, LCF’s first such fund was “Trees for Piper Park.” Begun years ago by local residents who aimed to buy and plant new trees in our community, the fund was turned over to the Larkspur Community Foundation to manage and to accept future donations.

Event Sponsorship
LCF supports events that bring together the entire Larkspur community. The foundation hosts the historic Rose Bowl dance every other year in order to preserve a century-old Larkspur tradition. LCV also regularly works with other groups to host gatherings such as the Music in the Park concerts, Holiday Lights in Piper Park and the Heart of Larkspur volunteer appreciation event.

Volunteer Support
As part of our commitment to supporting volunteer efforts in our community, LCF co-hosts the Heart of Larkspur events to recognize local volunteers. These events have highlighted volunteers from Neighborhood Response Groups, Native Blooms and city commissions. We have also given grants to several organizations that rely on volunteers.
Partners
LCF is proud to work with many of Larkspur’s leading organizations to build and beautify the towns of Larkspur and Greenbrae.
