Larkspur knows: when you want to get something done, call Sheri Mowbray. 

The LCF boardmember, Marin County native, Larkspur mom and successful businesswoman has now set her sights set on creating a new gathering space downtown as head of our Arch Street Landing fundraising committee.

LCF: How did you get involved with LCF?

Sheri: I was honored to be invited to join the LCF board in 2016. I love Larkspur and was excited to help find new ways to make it an even more vibrant community.

LCF: How did you come to live in Larkspur?

Sheri: I grew up in San Rafael and have lived in Marin almost my entire life. We lived in Mill Valley when our daughters were born in 1999, and moved to Creekside in 2000 so they could grow up on a classic Larkspur cul-de-sac. It was the best decision! Today, we love living in Madrone Canyon.

LCF: What do you love most about living in Larkspur?

Sheri: Being able to walk downtown with my husband Doug and dog Marlie to our favorite shops and restaurants, having trails right in our backyard, and, above all, the wonderful people and deep sense of community.

LCF: You are heading up the Arch Street Landing fundraising committee. What experience has prepared you for taking on that role?

Sheri: My professional life was in sales and then creating and running a business. Bringing a project like Arch Street Landing to life requires an entrepreneurial mindset—building something from the ground up, communicating its value to the community, and inspiring donor support. It’s an incredibly worthwhile project, and I can’t wait to see it realized.

LCF: What makes you most excited about Arch Street Landing?

Sheri: It’s an opportunity to transform an underutilized dirt patch in the heart of downtown into a beautiful, useful space. Most of all, it will be a place that extends the feeling of community. That’s really what it’s all about.
