New Larkspur Parks & Rec Headquarters Approved

On Dec 3, the Larkspur City Council approved a budget amendment to fund a $3.1 building to house the Parks & Recreation Department at Piper Park.

The city has historically rented offices on the Hall Middle School campus to house the department but LCMSD will need to retake the space for its own use in 2027.

The new 2,400-square-foot modular recreation department headquarters will have offices and a classroom available for recreation classes and public rental.

The building will also be the new home of the public restrooms that will be torn down to make space for the new facility, which will be conveniently located just east of the Hall Middle School field, between the softball field and the parking lot.

Public Works Director Julian Skinner told the city council that the new Parks & Rec HQ should be completed within approximately 12-18 months. Read more about the new facility and the council’s October debate over the project in this Marin IJ article.

We at LCF are big supporters of Larkspur’s Parks & Rec and are excited to support programming in their new home!
