$51,000 Raised for Small Business Support!

May 8, 2020

When the pandemic took hold we were all looking for ways to help. One way LCF made a difference for Larkspur was to support small businesses. When the LCF Board learned that the Larkspur Chamber of Commerce was creating a program to offer immediate financial relief to small businesses in Larkspur and Greenbrae we wanted to help. LCF got the ball rolling by matching the first $10,000 raised by the Chamber and getting the word out about the program. Cash grants totaling $51,000 were disbursed by the Larkspur Chamber of Commerce Small Business Emergency Fund to 33 local, small business owners.  All funds raised went directly to merchants who applied for assistance! Without revenue or assistance, our cherished businesses might not survive.

The following are a sampling of the thank you’s we received from business owners:

“Thank you very much for donating to the Small Business Fund. Your gift of $$$ came in very handy for paying rent and utilities. It’s amazing to have a thriving, joyful and helpful business 30 yrs. and the one day completely gone. I am still in shock.  It feels good to be helped even if it’s a one time gift!”

“I just want to express my heartfelt gratitude as a recipient of one of the Larkspur Chamber of Commerce donations for my small business, in downtown Larkspur.   As a business owner  for 23 years, it was like a big hug from the community, and this effort, really touched me! “

“Your donation and recognizing the beat of our local business is so appreciated.”
